Brampton SC made history this past weekend with our Under 15 Girls qualifying for the 2021 OPDL Charity Shield. This is the 1st team in the Club’s OPDL history to reach the Final Four of the OPDL and we congratulate Coach Michael Di Blasio, Team Staff and Players for achieving the opportunity to compete for the OPDL Title.
Our Under 14 Girls are still in the hunt for a spot in the OPDL Charity Shield and currently sit 1 point behind 2nd place and are 2 points away from top spot with two games remaining in their season.
The Under 14 Boys are sitting tied for 3rd Place in their conference and could make it through to the OPDL Charity Shield by getting maximum points in their remaining games and hopefully some results go our way with the teams just above us.
At Under 17 Boys, we are Mid Table and our Under 15 Boys are steadily climbing the table with back to back wins in their recent matches.
I want to personally Thank all of our OPDL Team Staff (Head Coaches, Team Managers, Technical Assistants, Goalkeeper Coach) for making this OPDL season a successful one. By having a group of committed people with a shared vision, we can achieve or exceed our goals/objectives. Regardless of the final outcome of this season, we can be proud of the OPDL program accomplishments and performances.
This is just the beginning towards bigger targets and we will expand OPDL teams in 2022 with a full pathway of 8 teams ranging from U13, U14, U15 and U17 (Boys/Girls). With OPDL being the primary feeder system into Provincial, Toronto FC and National Team programs, we will continue to offer talented players in our community the opportunity to compete and showcase themselves against the best across Ontario.
Well done Team!!!
Kind Regards,
Joey Lombardi
