Adelle Volpone is a Registered Social Worker and the Founder of Volpone Counselling and Consulting Services. She holds a graduate degree in Social Work from York University and an undergraduate degree in Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). She has 18 years of experience practicing psychotherapy with individuals (youth and adults), couples and families. Adelle has been trained throughout the years in many modalities including: cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focussed brief therapy, narrative therapy, and attachment theory. Adelle works with individuals to set goals and shift their mindset in order to reach their fullest potential whether that be in sports, in academics, in careers or in life. Her practice is founded on mindfulness techniques, cognitive restructuring and the mind body connection. When Adelle is not working, she is usually with her two children who are high performance athletes and heavily involved in competitive sport. “People in a growth mindset don’t just seek challenge, they thrive on it. The bigger the challenge, the more they stretch. And nowhere can it be seen more clearly than in the world of sports. You can just watch people stretch and grow” (Carol Dweck). Working with one’s mindset can greatly impact one’s athletic performance. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you are ready to stretch and grow as an athlete.
