Brampton Soccer Club (BSC) is pleased to announce that Sanford Carabin has been selected as its new Director of Soccer.
As Director of Soccer, Sanford will be responsible for the day-to-day management and technical growth of the Club. As such, he will be in charge of building the Club both on and off the field according to the Club’s vision and strategy, with specific roles including: Club administration & oversight, building the BSC brand, improving workflow processes, coach education, long term player development (LTPD), high-performance pathway, and all other technical-related or sport specific initiatives.
“The Brampton Soccer Club is excited to have an individual with the experience, knowledge and respect in Ontario to take on this crucial portfolio within the organization,” said Gene DaSilva, President. “He is no stranger to Soccer in Ontario and knows the Peel Region very well, we look forward to having him lead the Club in these important roles, and move us forward.”
“Having spent the past 22 plus years in the sport of soccer as a player, coach, agent, scout and administrator, becoming the Director of Soccer at BSC is an incredible privilege and I will look to apply my experience to grow and develop the game at the Club and in Ontario,” stated Sanford Carabin. He added that “my priority will be to maximize the participation base at the Club, augment coach and match official education, develop players within the recreational, development and high-performance streams and create/enhance community programs to ensure the Brampton Soccer Club is a successful Member Club in Ontario.”
Carabin began his coaching career in 1999 with Wexford SC and moved on to lead several Clubs, Academies and Colleges over a 20+ year period including: Markham SC, Bryst Academy, Durham Region Soccer Association, North Mississauga SC, Seneca College and several League 1 programs. In addition, he has been a coach and performance analyst for the past 6 years within the Jamaican Football Federation having attended several CONCACAF Competitions, 2019 Women’s World Cup in France and most recently, as a member of coaching staff with the Jamaican Men’s National Team for 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. Carabin holds a CSA National B License, USSF A & B Licenses, UEFA B License, and is currently completing part 2 of his UEFA A License.
