The Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) is the province’s youth high-performance pathway that combines top level competition with established high-performance training standards. It is the highest level of competitive youth play in Ontario and targets the top male and female athletes within the following age groups U13 to U17. It is the primary pathway for the selection of players to both the Ontario Provincial and Canadian National teams.
BSC operates a very robust OPDL program at all ages with the primary objective to foster the growth of players across the four key corners of player development.
OPDL players are expected to participate in multiple training sessions per week, which provides them with ample opportunities to practice and refine their skills. Competitive matches play a vital role for all OPDL teams. Every team participates in a specific OPDL league, which offers high-level competition against other talented teams. These matches allow players to apply their skills in a competitive environment and learn valuable lessons through gameplay.
The coaching standards in the OPDL program are of utmost importance. All coaches are certified and possess the necessary qualifications and experience to guide players effectively. They are responsible for creating a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters the development and growth of each player.
BSC will be holding tryouts for our 2023-24 OPDL Teams beginning with the NEW U13 Boys and Girls (Born 2011) Teams in late August with subsequent trials for the U14 to U17 age groups beginning in October 2023 (Dates & Times to be posted by the end of August).
To Attend
Registration is required for all players including existing players who wish to participate in tryouts. This is to ensure adequate field, staffing and equipment for the volume of players expected. It will also enable BSC to send venue/ time change information (should there be any) to all who have registered as participating.
Assessments are at no cost to the participants & registration for each age group will close at noon prior to the first session.
NO walk ons or late registrations will be permitted – no exceptions.
To Register:
Step 1 – Visit www.bramptonsc.com and Select “Register Now” Button on main page.
Step 2 – If you have have existing Power up Account, enter your Login Details, if NOT, Create NEW Accout for free
Step 3 – Once in Power Up, click “Registration Centre” and select “2023/24 OPDL Trials”
Step 4 – Select the Product (i.e. U13 Boys OPDL) then “ADD to Basket”

All communication will be sent to the email address with your registration account.
Player Selection:
Participants may attend as many or as little sessions as they see fit, but it is recommended that they attend all sessions for better identification by the coaching staff. Players selected will be sent an offer letter directly at the conclusion of trials.
